About Dr. Stefanie Maxwell, Psy.D.

Stefanie Maxwell, Psy.D. received her Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) in 1999 from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Campus (now housed within Argosy University). She obtained her license as a clinical psychologist in 2003.

Dr. Maxwell has done research on the stress of cultural transitions and geographic relocations, in addition to a project about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She has an extensive background in long-term care facilities for the treatment of severe mental illness, as well as in college counseling centers. She has led many groups, both short- and long-term.

Dr. Maxwell grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, with brief time spent in rural Iowa, New York City, Minneapolis, and Paris. She has lived in the city of Chicago for almost twenty years, and calls it home. She is fluent in French and an avid reader, and enjoys time spent at the lakefront.
